Disneyland shuts parts of park down Nov 6-7, 2012 for film shooting

For the first time in more than ten years, Disneyland will be home to a film crew working on a major motion picture.

On November 6 and 7, however, it will be walled off for Walter E. Disney himself.

ilms and TV shows have been filmed in Disney's original magic kingdom before, but it has been nearly a dozen years before an area of Disneyland has needed to be blocked off for filming. Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown told the Orange County Register that the blockades will be necessary considering the film is set in 1961, six years after park opening. Disneyland Cast Members have been applying to be period-accurate film extras, and that no one blockade will last the entire day. The areas have not been announced; according to Brown, Disneyland “will be communicating that schedule to guests when they arrive on those days.”
