Festival of the Masters Returns to Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort This Weekend
As Steven reminded us earlier today, it’s almost time for the Festival of the Masters presented by Michaels. And if you’re joining us this weekend, you’ll recognize some familiar faces from the Disney Parks Blog. Your favorite Disney artists like Will Gay, Don “Ducky” Williams and Joe Kaminski will be making appearances and showing their work, along with 150 other award winners from across the country.
The Disney Artist Village tent at Downtown Disney will feature art created by masters from various Disney disciplines, including Walt Disney Imagineering. And this year, you’ve got to stop by and see artist Dave Avanzino at the Art of Disney. Dave creates art pieces using prop-like elements and fonts based on signs and attractions found around our theme parks.
Take a look at when you can meet with Disney artists:
Please note that artists are subject to change without notice.
Also, for the first time at the Festival, there will be an Emerging Masters area, where more than 30 juried up-and-coming artists will showcase works and compete for awards.
So, here’s what else you need to know before heading out:
