His previously announced behind-the-scenes role in Disney's "The Lone Ranger." White was initially tapped to provide the musical score for the 2013 film starring Johnny Depp, but Indiewire reports that he's off the project and has been replaced by composer Hans Zimmer.

A release from Disney stated that White had contributed several pieces to the film, but "was logistically unavailable due to scheduling conflicts that arose when the film’s release moved to July of 2013.”

White had previously provided songs for the films "Quantum of Solace" and "Cold Mountain." His solo debut, "Blunderbuss," is nominated for album of the year at February's Grammy awards.
