Jonathan Groff to Voice Lead Character in Disney's 'Frozen'

Jonathan Groff has signed on to voice a lead character in Walt Disney Animation Studios' comedy-adventure Frozen.

'Wreck-It Ralph' Writer Tapped to Direct Disney's 'Frozen'

The Tony Award nominee (Spring Awakening) will voice Kristoff in the film, which kicks off when a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter. Anna (Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Surf’s Up) and Wreck-It Ralph scribe Jennifer Lee, Frozen will be presented in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters. Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog) is producing.
The film is scheduled for release Nov. 27, 2013.
