If you or a member of your family or friend has a hearing disability there are a number of ways Disney parks and their helpful cast members can help deliver a much more richer, magical experience. ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES
Assistive Listening systems utilize Disney's Handheld Device to receive a signal from overhead transmitters in order to amplify sound. Devices with headphones or induction loops are available through Guest Relations and require a $100 refundable deposit (must return item on the same day for a refund).

This portable captioning system uses a wireless handheld receiver to display text in locations such as moving attractions. Devices are available through Guest Relations and require a $100 refundable deposit and the item must be returned on the same day for a refund.

REFLECTIVE CAPTIONING
Reflective Captioning is available at many theater-type attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort. This technology utilizes an LED display to project desired captions onto an acrylic panel positioned in front of the Guest. To utilize this system, Guests should contact a host/hostess at the attraction.

VIDEO CAPTIONING
Caption-ready monitors are available at many attractions. These monitors are designated with a "CC" symbol and can only be activated by remote control. Single button activators are available through Guest Relations and require a $25 refundable deposit. Video Captioning can also be activated using Disney's Handheld Device which requires a $100 refundable deposit (must return item on the same day for refund).

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION
Walt Disney World Resort provides Sign Language interpretation for our Guests at specific live Disney Theme Park shows on a rotating basis as follows:
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park — Saturdays
Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park — Sundays, Wednesdays
Epcot Theme Park — Tuesdays, Fridays
Magic Kingdom Theme Park — Mondays, Thursdays
Guests should request confirmation of our interpreted performance schedule a minimum of 7 days in advance by calling Walt Disney World Resort Information at (407) 824-4321 [voice] or (407) 827-5141 [TTY]. (Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.) Guests will be contacted prior to their visit with an appropriate show schedule that lists the names, dates, and times of our interpreted performances. Sign Language interpretation is one of several services available in our theme parks for Guests with hearing disabilities.
Sign Language interpretation can also be requested for other special events and shows, such as "Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue", "Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage" and "Disney's Spirit of Aloha", with a minimum of 14 days advanced notice. Requests for interpretation at special events or shows can be made by calling Walt Disney World Resort Information at (407) 824-4321 [voice] or (407) 827-5141 [TTY]. (Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.) Guests will be contacted prior to their visit to verify arrangements.
TELEPHONES
Pay phones equipped with amplified handsets are widely available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Pay phones equipped with a Text Typewriter are also available. Theme Park locations are listed in the Guide for Guests with Disabilities.
WRITTEN AIDS
A pad of paper and pens/pencils are readily accessible at each location for Cast Members to utilize, if necessary, to communicate with Guests with needs at Walt Disney World Resort. Cast Members with abilities in Sign Language can be identified with the appropriate language pin. Guest Assistance Packets containing dialogue, flashlights, and pen and paper are available at or near the performance areas or entrances for most shows and attractions. Guests should contact a host/hostess at the attractions.
