The Walt Disney Studios spelled out their plan of world domination at CinemaCon 2013 at Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas. Their slate of films included new releases from Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney Animation and DreamWorks.

Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios chairman, first talked up Disney and Pixar projects: Maleficent, Frozen, The Muppets 2, Saving Mr. Banks, Finding Dory, Disney Nature’s Bears, Planes, Delivery Man, “The Good Dinosaur,” “Inside Out” and “Tomorrow.”

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Next group of mentions go to the Marvel Studio with mentions of “Antman,” “The Avengers 2,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Fifth Estate, “Thor: The Dark World,” Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” No surprises there.

The studio is expected to busy with 14 to 15 pictures a year with about eight of them being part of their tent pole/franchise strategy. Marvel Studios will move forward with “two sensational movies a year.” And the big aggressive push will be LucasFilms’ Star Wars franchise, in which the studio will alternate every other year with an “Episode” film with a standalone film in the off-years.

The stage was then handed over to “The Lone Ranger” producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski to promote the new film as well as play some clips.

Lastly, The Walt Disney Studios screened the entire movie of Monsters University to the attendees. Pretty cool stuff!

What do you think of all the movies mentioned? Will Disney's strategy mean overkill for Marvel and Star Wars fans? Will they be able to keep up with high-quality story telling? This is the NEW DISNEY and their first shot begins with "Marvel's - IRON MAN 3." I wish them the best and I hope they succeed!
