'Star Wars 7' Stars Pressured to Lose Weight' Harrison Ford Not the Same Treatment

Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher have reportedly been told to lose weight for the upcoming seventh film of the series.

Producers are said to be hoping for the actors to closely resemble older versions of their characters Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, according to The Sun.

                                                   Mark Hamill... 1977 and 2013

Hamill, 61, and Fisher, 56, will apparently be given their own nutritionist and personal trainer before filming starts at the end of 2013.

"Mark and Carrie need to be as close to their appearance in the earlier movies as possible," a source claimed. "Producers are keen to help out and have offered support.

"The budget is huge, so there will be no expense spared."

Harrison Ford - who will reprise his role of Han Solo in Star Wars Episode VII - will reportedly not require the same treatment, as producers are said to be happy with his current physique.

JJ Abrams will direct the upcoming seventh installment of the sci-fi franchise, after George Lucas sold the rights to Disney last year.

Fisher recently said of Star Wars being bought by Disney and the planned new movie trilogy: "I'm glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape.

Get a Sneak Preview of ESPN Films and espnW "The '99ers from the "Nine for IX" Series at D23 Expo 2013

ESPN FILMS TO PRESENT A SNEAK PREVIEW OF THE ’99ers FROM THE NINE FOR IX SERIES AT THE D23 EXPO 2013

Film about the 1999 Women’s World Cup Team to screen on Sunday, August 11, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director Erin Leyden and producer Julie Foudy

The world of women’s sports was kicked upside down on July 10, 1999. Before a sold-out crowd of more than 90,000 at the Rose Bowl and an estimated 40 million Americans watching on television, the women’s soccer team reached a cultural and athletic pinnacle with its penalty kick shootout victory over China to win the Women’s World Cup. As part of ESPN Films’ new Nine for IX series, The ’99ers explores the story behind this incredible team. Attendees of the D23 Expo 2013 can catch an exclusive screening of this film featuring a Q&A with the director Erin Leyden and the producer Julie Foudy. The screening/ Q&A will take place at The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Stage 28 at the Anaheim Convention Center on Sunday, August 11 at 2:30 p.m. PT.

The ’99ers is told through the voice of Foudy, a longtime team captain, who gives viewers an inside look at the strong team ethic and rare “do for each other” mentality that propelled them to victory that day and turned the team into a cultural touchstone. With unprecedented access, the film uses candid, behind-the-scenes footage shot by the players themselves during the tournament to present a unique portrait of the women who irrevocably changed the face of women’s athletics. Reuniting key players from the 1999 squad and talking with current U.S. players as well, the film examines how women’s soccer – and women’s sports as a whole – has changed since that epic day at the Rose Bowl.

Tickets for the D23 Expo are $57 for a one-day adult admission and $47 for children 3–12. Tickets for members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club are $50 for a one-day adult admission and $42 for children. Multi-day money-saving tickets are also available for both D23 Members and the general public, and D23 Members can save as much as $84 off the price of admission, based on the purchase of four three-day tickets at the D23 Member rate. For more information on tickets and the ticket pricing structure for members and general admission, visit D23Expo.com.

Walt Disney Studios Soars with American Airlines for "Disney's Planes"

American Airlines and the Walt Disney Studios announced a strategic collaboration on the upcoming “Disney’s Planes” movie, including a cameo appearance by Tripp -- inspired in part by American’s Boeing 777-300ER, the newest addition to American’s fleet.

Tripp dons the airline’s new look, complete with the company’s newly developed flight symbol and stripes on his tail for a special cameo appearance in the film.

“Disney is a global family brand and working with them gives us a fun opportunity to connect with families who know and love the iconic American Airlines brand,” said Rob Friedman, American’s Vice President – Marketing. “Through this collaboration, we have a lot of great things planned for this summer, including exciting trip promotions and in-airport activities, so I encourage everyone to stay tuned.”

To kick off the excitement, American and Disney this morning surprised customers traveling through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with gate celebrations and giveaways, including special guest appearances by the film’s director Klay Hall and actor Carlos Alazraqui, who provides the voice of passionate racer El Chupacabra (El Chu) in the film.

In addition, American and Disney today premiered a special version of the “Disney’s Planes” trailer for LAX customers, as well as American’s new custom animated commercial directed by Hall, and developed in conjunction with McCann Worldgroup. In the spot, characters from the movie, including Dusty, El Chu and Tripp, highlight American’s fleet modernization efforts with a comedic flare. American also held the inflight debut of the trailer and commercial spot onboard Flight #2442 from LAX to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The trailer, ad spot and images of Tripp are available for viewing starting today at aa.com/disneyplanes.

Klay Hall (Director), Traci Balthazor (Producer), Carlos Alazraqui (Voice of El Chupacabra) and Jeff Plant (American Airline’s Managing Director – LAX) announce collaboration on “Disney’s Planes

“I’m a lifelong aviation fan and ‘Disney’s Planes’ has allowed me to explore so many facets of flying,” said Hall. “I think the addition of Tripp to our lineup really adds to the fun, particularly for aviation buffs like me.”

“Disney’s Planes” and Tripp soar into theaters nationwide beginning Aug. 9, 2013. Leading up to the film’s release, the companies plan to roll out an integrated marketing effort, including collaborated advertising, promotions and inflight entertainment. American will also feature an inflight version of the movie in October, one month earlier than other airlines, as part of American’s continuing effort to provide customers with the latest and most exclusive content.

For more information on American’s 777-300ER and other fleet renewal plans, visit aa.com/newplanes, and for more information about American’s collaboration with “Disney’s Planes,” please visit aa.com/disneyplanes.

The Walt Disney Company is Now Valued "World's Largest Media Company"

At about the halfway mark of the year, big media companies -- including long-suffering Sony -- all have experienced gains. And all but one of the seven major entertainment conglomerates have outpaced the 10.3 percent rise notched by the S&P 500 in the time period. Many smaller entertainment stocks have trounced that benchmark, with Lionsgate up 66.4 percent to $27.29 and perennial yo-yo DreamWorks Animation up 46.6 percent thanks to the success of The Croods.

Netflix, which premiered the original series House of Cards, Hemlock Grove and Arrested Development in the first half of 2013, was rewarded with a huge 132.9 percent stock increase to $215.60 (with a market cap of $12.1 billion). A weakness in cable has made Comcast a laggard among conglomerates, though it has bested Time Warner Cable, up 4.1 percent, and Cablevision Systems, up 1 percent.

The new drama-filled, action-adventure movie will be in theaters starting July 3. In the meantime, fans can visit www.Cars.com/nodrama for special trailer footage from the movie.

"Our media campaign for this year is designed to reach a huge audience of car shoppers—first we kicked things off with the Big Game, more recently with a NASCAR partnership, and now with Disney, one of America's most beloved brands," said Linda Bartman, Cars.com's Chief Marketing Officer. Disney renames Mouseketeer Stage for Annette Funicello

Disney renames "The Mickey Mouse Club" stage for beloved Mouseketeer Annette Funicello

The stage at Walt Disney Studios where "The Mickey Mouse Club" was filmed is now officially the Annette Funicello Stage.

Walt Disney Co. chief Bob Iger led a ceremony Monday dedicating the soundstage to Funicello, the Mouseketeer-turned-movie star who died in April at age 70.

Iger confessed to having a crush on Funicello when he was growing up, as many who watched the perky brunette on TV did.

Former Mouseketeers, Funicello's family and colleagues and Mickey Mouse himself also participated in Monday's dedication. Frankie Avalon, Richard Sherman and Leonard Maltin were among those honoring the late actress.

Julie Andrews is the only other entertainer to have a namesake stage at Disney studios.

Disney Parks "Star Wars Land" Rumored $200 Million Plus Expansion

Jedi Mickey at Star Wars Weekends 2013! Photo by Kristen Hoetzel Photography, used by permission.

I've mentioned Disney expanding its Star Wars presence in the parks this before on Jedi Mouseketeer as well as on Rebel Force Radio but now Richard Bilbao, Reporter for the Orlando Business Journal states an expansion at Walt Disney World Resort is becoming more of a reality.

Bilbao as well as my inside sources state that a Star Wars Land will be coming soon the the Florida resort costing upwards of $200 million. Disney wants to stay ahead of the game with the park additions since the new Star Wars films are set to launch in 2015. If all of this rings true expect an announcement at Disney's D23 Expo. From what I understand there will be plenty of earth shattering announcements.
