George Lucas and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" Crew Snag Two Daytime Emmy (video)

"Star Wars: The Clone Wars" won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program. The Maker himself,  series creator and executive producer George Lucas, was on hand to accept this first-time honor. Joining him on stage was the team behind the series supervising director Dave Filoni, producer Cary Silver and line producer Athena Portillo. The Clone Wars beat The Legend of Korra and Dan Vs. in this category. The award was presented by none other than Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher. Sporting a very elegant black dress, Fisher wasted no time joking about her stint in rehab making for great moments that would make for a great Comedy Central roast. It was a great moment indeed. Absent was any mention of starring in "Star Wars: Episode VII."

This year marked the first time "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" saw nominations - seven total. The show also won Friday in the Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program category, with David Tennant honored for his work as the droid Huyang in Season 5.
