Game over man. game over. - Bill Paxton to star in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. four-parter
Bill Paxton known for his roles in Apollo 13, Weird Science, Twister, Aliens, True Lies, and Titanic. Will be guest-starring in a four-part story arc on ABC later this Feburary/March. Paxton starred in the HBO series Big Love (2006–2011) and was nominated for an Emmy Award for the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.
Paxton will portray Agent John Garret who, in the Marvel comics, gets transformed into a cyborg to save his life. "We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger. When Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn't like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two," says Executive producer Jed Whedon. Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen adds,"[Agent John Garret] comes into the fold in a very surprising way. He is the type who wants to stay out in the field no matter how high-level he gets."
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET on ABC.
