Marvel Comics introduce a female Thor

These days Marvel Comics is shaking things up in their universe. They have killed off Peter Parker (only to reintroduce him this year) and now replacing classic Thor with a female Thor. Yeppers. He is now a she.

This fall Marvel will debut a new series, THOR, written by Jason Aaron complimented with art from Russell Dauterman. Marvel recently announced plans to change up the big three - Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. Over the next few issues readers will discover why the classic Thunder God will not be able to wield, Mjölnir (the hammer), and a brand new female hero will emerge worthy of the name THOR and hold the hammer. | |

“The inscription on Thor's hammer reads ‘Whosoever holds this hammer, if HE be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.’ Well it's time to update that inscription,” says Marvel editor Wil Moss. “The new Thor continues Marvel's proud tradition of strong female characters like Captain Marvel, Storm, Black Widow and more. And this new Thor isn't a temporary female substitute - she's now the one and only Thor, and she is worthy!”

This in interesting news to me and many others. What else could Marvel have up their sleeves for their readers? What do you think about this new female Thor? Leave you comments below!
